American Blake Mycoskie traveled to Argentina in 2006 to learn about the culture and expand his perceptions of the world. While he was there he noticed that many of the children in the poorer areas of Argentina were shoeless, as many had never had their own pair of shoes, growing up bear footed. Which made for an unhealthy way of life for many children, as it limited many from walking far distance, as needed for many to attain basic resources which we can just hop in our cars to get. So instead of coming back to the States and just feeling sorry for the children of Argentina, he decided to step up to the plate and make a change for the good. He came up with an idea to start a shoe company Tom's Shoes, which would have the the motto "one for one", as Toms shoes would give a pair of shoes to children of need, for every pair that was purchased. The design of the shoes are comfortable, simple, and durable, all true to size. Although the shoes are real cool, they symbolize alot more than what they look like on your feet.
